Position Overview Position Summary:
The college of Liberal Arts and Sciences is seeking a qualified candidate to teach as a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Spanish. This is a residential appointment and campus presence is required. Review of applications will begin immediately; position will remain open until filled. Start date is August 2025. Requirements Duties and Responsibilities:

• 4/4 teaching load, scholarship, and service
• Teaching load will include 1000- and 2000-level foundational Spanish courses in addition to a variety of upper-division courses Courses may be offered in-person, hybrid, or online
• Serve the institution and remain active in the profession by maintaining a consistent record of scholarly research that includes publications and presentations in peer-reviewed venues
• Mentorship of student research Minimum Job Requirements:Ph.D in Spanish required (ABD considered)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ideal candidates will have a commitment to teaching excellence and a strong generalist academic background
  • Expertise in, but not limited to, one or more of the following fields: Latin American literature, translation/interpretation, Latin American culture and civilization
  • Second language acquisition and linguistics are a plus
  • Experience in online and/or hybrid settings, and with study abroad programs is preferred Working Conditions Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
