Job Description:
Waste Connections, a leader in integrated waste services, is
seeking a dedicated and skilled Heavy Equipment PM Mechanic to join
our Engineering & Maintenance department. In this role, you will be
responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment used in
residential, commercial, and industrial waste management services,
ensuring operational efficiency and safety. The position demands a
mix of mechanical skills, preventive maintenance expertise, and a
commitment to environmental stewardship. Perform routine preventive
maintenance on heavy equipment such as loaders, bulldozers, and
dump trucks. Diagnose and repair any issues related to engines,
hydraulics, and other machine systems. Maintain detailed records of
equipment performance and repairs. Ensure compliance with safety
and environmental regulations. Collaborate with equipment operators
to troubleshoot issues and optimize machine use. Order and manage
inventory of parts and supplies. Provide emergency on-call support
for equipment breakdowns outside regular working hours. Proficiency
in diesel engine repairs Strong hydraulic and electrical
troubleshooting abilities Experience with preventive maintenance
software and processes Capability to read and interpret mechanical
and electrical schematics Strong problem-solving and communication
