Job Description Job Description Position Overview We are seeking
an experienced Automation Specialist to join our team. This role is
designed for an expert in oil and gas automation with experience in
control systems, custody transfer, actuators, and VFDs (Variable
Frequency Drives). The successful candidate will provide technical
leadership, supervision, commissioning, and troubleshooting across
a wide range of automation and instrumentation systems to keep
client operations safe, efficient, and compliant. Key
Responsibilities · Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC, RTU,
SCADA, and flow computer systems used in oil and gas operations. ·
Provide technical expertise and oversight of custody transfer
systems (water and hydrocarbons), ensuring accuracy and compliance
with industry standards. · Install, commission, and maintain
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including motor control, setup,
tuning, and integration with control systems. · Work with
actuators, MOVs (motor-operated valves), pneumatic/electric
controls, and related field automation devices. · Lead or assist
with commissioning, start-ups, upgrades, and integration of
automation projects across upstream and midstream facilities. ·
Supervise field technicians and contractors, ensuring adherence to
safety, quality, and project deadlines. · Diagnose and resolve
issues with instrumentation including pressure, temperature, level,
and flow devices. · Ensure compliance with API, AGA, OSHA, and
client-specific measurement and control standards. · Collaborate
with client operations teams to improve efficiency, reduce
downtime, and optimize system performance. · Maintain detailed
service logs, calibration reports, and regulatory compliance
records. Qualifications · 5 years of hands-on experience in oil &
gas automation, measurement, and instrumentation. · Proven
expertise with VFD installation, commissioning, and maintenance,
including integration with automation systems. · Strong working
knowledge of PLCs, RTUs, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, SCADA platforms, and
flow computers (ABB, Emerson ROC, Fisher, Totalflow, etc.). ·
Experience with water and hydrocarbon custody transfer systems. ·
Familiarity with a variety of actuators, MOVs, and control valve
automation systems. · Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop
diagrams, electrical schematics, and control narratives. · Strong
troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to
work independently in field conditions. · Valid driver’s license
and willingness to travel to client sites as required. · Safety
certifications (H2S, PEC, OSHA, etc.) strongly preferred. What We
