Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Certified Surgical Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 08/18/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Facility Info: Carlsbad Medical Center 2430 West Pierce Carlsbad, NM 88220 Specialty: CST OR Shift: 7a-3:30p, Mon-Fri, 5x8hr shifts, call required Job Description: Surgical technologists prepare the operating room, including the sterile field, setting up surgical equipment, supplies and solutions. During surgery, surgical technologists pass instruments, fluids and supplies to the surgeon and prepare and manage surgical equipment. Surgical technologists simultaneously manage the sterile field and specimens. Surgical technologists perform a count of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects. Surgical technologists are certified following successful completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program or other programmatically-accredited surgical technology program and the national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) examination administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Requirements: 2YRS Exp Working in Specialty 2YRS Exp Working Only in Acute Care Setting ACTIVE BLS (AHA) ACTIVE ACLS (AHA) EMR: Cerner Must have Exp with general, ortho, OBGYN, podiatry, plastics, endo, & trauma Must have Exp in Adult & pediatric FINGERPRINTS FOR ALL NM TRAVELERS ARE REQUIRED No Option for 48 hr.
