Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Duration: 52 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Local Contract Job Overview A rural hospital in Portales, New Mexico is seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join their full-time team. This permanent night-shift position offers the opportunity to work in a close-knit community environment focused on compassionate, high-quality patient care. Responsibilities - Deliver direct nursing care to patients presenting with emergent or acute medical needs. - Triage, assess, and monitor patient status while providing evidence-based interventions. - Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to stabilize and treat emergency cases. - Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with facility protocols. - Maintain accurate, timely documentation and uphold patient safety standards. Requirements - Active RN license in the state of New Mexico (or Compact state). - Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. - Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical foundations considered. - Excellent critical-thinking skills and ability to perform under pressure. - Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Additional Details Schedule: 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. night shifts. Position Type: Permanent, full-time. Environment: Small, community-based hospital with collaborative team culture.
