Registered Nurse (RN) | Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma Location:
Artesia, NM Agency: Mindlance Health Pay: $2,225 per week Shift
Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working
with Mindlance Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Artesia,
New Mexico, 88210! ID: 75668231 Shift: 12H Days Description: Unit :
ER | RNArtesia has modules that must be completed prior to the
clinician working the floor. Email sent from Modules take around 20
hours to complete. Client allows for billing of module work up to 6
hours.Two days needs for a CAH in Artesia NM that actually really
like trauma level 1s with the types of patients that come in (being
super high acuity mining accidents) Artesia has modules that must
be completed prior to the clinician working the floor. Email sent
from Client allows for billing of module work up to 6 hours.-
Trauma Level/STEMI Receiving/Stroke Center?: Community Hospital-
currently working on Trauma Level 4 designation; transfer out
STEMIs and Strokes.- Beds/Trauma Bays: 5 Beds, 2 Trauma Bays.- Do
you have a Fast Track: None, Walk- In family practice clinic
attached to hospital that sees lower level patients. - Do you have
a separate Triage area?: 1 Triage nurse, 2 triage rooms.- Do you
have a separate holding area in the ER or are ER holds intermixed
w/in the ER?: None.- Do you have separate Psych/seclusion rooms?:
None - Is Security in-house 24/7? Housed in the ER?: Security in
house 24/7, 2 per shift, police available in needed.- On average,
how many patients do you treat in the ER/day: 40- 50 Avg.- Nurse:
Patient Ratios: 1:03.- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS,
TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS.- Common diagnoses/Types of patients:
Everyone from minor injuries to major traumas, STEMIs, & Strokes;
located near an Oil Field so that see a lot of crush injuries,
burns, loss of fingers, etc. - Experience or 'Must have' skills:
Must Have: 5 years of ED experience. Must be able to mix drips,
e.g. Amio, cardizem, Epi, Insulin, etc. Must be able to critically
think and work independently. Will accept trauma level 1 & 2 ED
experience. Will accept first time travelers.- Common drips?: Must
be able to titrate all critical drips. Must be able to mix drips,
e.g. Amio, cardizem, Epi, Insulin, etc- ED Physician/Mid-Levels: 1
ED physician 24/7.- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor?: 1 of 2 ED RNs
will be designated charge, travelers not asked to step into this
role; assist with EMS coordination, & throughput and flow of ED.
House Supervisor available 24/7 in-house.- Nurse
aids/EMT/Paramedics/Patient Sitters? Ratios? Duties?: ED Techs-
CNAs. Job Duties: Secretary duties, vitals signs, ADLs, I/Os,and
more.- Is RT in the ER 24/7? Do they do ABG's, breathing Tx, &
EKG's?: RT designated to ED during the Day; at night RT oversees
the whole hospital.- RT Equipment: Are RNs required to do anything
with these besides trouble shoot?: Manage resp equipment, resp
treatments, 12 Lead EKGs, etc. - Do you have Monitor Techs in the
ER? Are RNs required to read their own strips?: RNs are required to
be able to read and interpret tele and EKGs.- X-Ray or CT in the
ER? Transport?: Xray & CT available 24/7, US, IT, & MRI available,
portables availabe, will assist in transport.- Does Phlebotomy draw
labs or RN's draw?: Phlebotomy available, RNs can draw labs if
needed.- Shifts & Scheduling: 7-7, do not guarentee block
scheduling, manager will ask for ideal schedule but travelers are
asked to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent schedules.
Manager will try to accommodate the requests of our agency nurses,
however, we will not sacrifice our own staff just to accommodate a
special requested schedule.- Weekend Requirements: Every other.-
Holiday Requirements: May be asked to go in the Holiday Rotation.-
Is there call or a standby requirement?: No - Floating
Requirements: No- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue, Allowed to
wear jackets with no hood.- Unit/Department specific orientation:
1-2 days with a preceptor, depending on needs - Additional Notes: A
lot more capabilities than you'd anticipate for a small hospital,
currently working on becoming a Level IV hospital.Date Entered:
