Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Physical Therapist - Discipline: Therapy - Duration: Ongoing - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Staff Physical Therapist Opportunity – Artesia, New Mexico Direct Hire | Full-Time | Day Shift Job Description A community-focused healthcare organization in Artesia, New Mexico is hiring a Physical Therapist (PT) for a permanent, full-time role primarily supporting hospital-based outpatient physical therapy services, with the opportunity to flex into inpatient MedSurg/Rehab units as needed. This role provides comprehensive physical therapy services in response to physician referrals, in accordance with New Mexico state law and within the scope of professional practice. The Physical Therapist delivers patient-centered care across the lifespan while collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Position Overview - Permanent, full-time direct-hire role - Start date: ASAP - Specialty: Physical Therapy (PT) - Primary setting: Hospital-based outpatient PT - Flex coverage: Inpatient MedSurg/Rehab as needed - Patients treated per day: 8–10 Shift Details: - Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00a–5:00p - Department closed daily from 12:00p–1:00p for lunch - Weekend rotation: Approximately 1 weekend every 5 weeks (covering inpatient units) Compensation & Incentives - Pay range: $47.32 – $54.80 per hour (based on experience) - Up to a $25,000 sign-on bonus - Relocation assistance available up to $8,000 (with receipts) Key Responsibilities - Perform skilled evaluations and treatments addressing functional mobility, strength, balance, ambulation, sensation, wounds, and motor function - Develop individualized plans of care with measurable functional goals - Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions and monitor patient progress - Educate patients, families, and caregivers to promote independence and safe discharge - Develop comprehensive discharge plans including assistive devices, level of care, and community resources - Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams - Complete timely, accurate documentation in compliance with APTA standards and billing requirements - Participate in quality improvement initiatives, education, and program development - Maintain patient confidentiality, safety, and regulatory compliance Requirements - Graduate of accredited Master’s or Doctorate-level program in Physical Therapy - Eligible for licensure with the New Mexico State Physical Therapy Board - BLS Certification (required prior to start) - Minimum of 1 year of outpatient PT experience preferred but new grads encourage to apply.
