Travel OR RN Job Details - Job Title: Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Circulating - Location: Roswell, New Mexico 88201 (New Mexico travel nursing job) - Employment Type: Travel Contract (Healthcare Contract) - Contract Length: 13 weeks - Start Date: March 16, 2026 - End Date: June 15, 2026 - Schedule: Day shift, 5x8s (06:30–15:00) - Hours per Week: 40 - Shift Duration: 8-hour days - On-Call: Required (nights/weekends) - Pay Rate: $0/hr (as provided) - Unit: Operating Room (4 rooms; average daily census ~10) - Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics - Charting/EMR: Epic (required) - Support Services: Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Rapid Response Teams Operating Room RN Requirements - Experience: 5 years of recent Operating Room RN / perioperative RN experience required - Travel Experience: Required - License: Active New Mexico RN license or Compact RN license (required at time of submission) - Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (required) - EMR: Epic charting experience (required) - Scrub Experience: Not required - Clinical Skills (preferred/expected): Circulating for a broad case mix, including laparoscopic assisted procedures, total joint replacement, abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, thyroidectomy (partial/total), cystoscopy, TURP, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laminectomy/discectomy, ORIF/closed reductions, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, Whipple, ENT/airway procedures (tracheostomy, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy), and ophthalmology cases (cataract extraction/implant, glaucoma surgery, eye trauma). Key Responsibilities (Circulating RN) - Provide safe, efficient perioperative nursing care as a circulating OR RN across the surgical continuum - Perform pre-op verification (patient ID, consents, site marking), participate in time-outs, and advocate for patient safety - Coordinate equipment, supplies, implants, and documentation to support on-time case flow and OR efficiency - Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary support teams to anticipate needs and respond to changes in patient condition - Maintain aseptic technique awareness, monitor sterile field integrity, and support infection prevention standards - Document assessments, interventions, counts, specimens, and intraoperative events accurately in Epic - Participate in required on-call coverage for nights/weekends per schedule - Float to like units within scope as needed based on facility needs (brief unit orientation provided) Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career with this Operating Room RN contract in Roswell, New Mexico.
