ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Mindlance
Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Artesia, New Mexico,
88210! ID: 76590735 Shift: 12H Nights Description: Unit has modules
that must be completed prior to the clinician working the floor.
Email sent from Modules take around 20 hours to complete. Client
allows for billing of module work up to 6 hours.Some ICU, the
nurses rotate through our PCU area, but the patients can be very
ill and on drips, have invasive monitors, etc.-LTAC experience
great to have -MS/Tele experience a must have -Ability to do drips
-read tele strips -ability to maintain intubation would be great-
Beds: 26 - Ratios: 1:3-5 - Required certifications: BLS, ACLS -
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Medical/Surgical/PCU. Depending
on competency of nurse, they may be called upon to work in PCU
which is within our department; NO ICU in Hospital, if needed would
transfer to a higher level hospital.- Experience or 'Must have'
skills: Must have 3 years of MS-Tele experience. Prefer
PCU/Stepdown experience. Will accept first time travelers.- Are RNs
required to titrate drips: Yes, occasionally. - Common titratable
&/or set rate drips: Insulin, amiodarone, levofedMultiple drip
protocols- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit?: Must be able
to read and interpret tele; Mindray cardiac monitors. - Charge
Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?:
No, charge does take a lesser patient assignment. Travelers
typically not asked to step into charge role.- Are there nurse aids
on this unit/Ratios: Yes, 1 to 8. Job Duties: Vitals, ADLs, I/Os,
patient transfers, transports, showers, Nurses do AccuChecks. Must
have 1 year of experience.- RT Equipment: All; in house 24/7; Will
manage all resp equipment, will take continuous bipap/cpap, Day-
designated to unit, at night only 1 RT in house. Transport out is
difficult so at times.- Shifts & Scheduling: 7-7, do not guarentee
block scheduling, manager will ask for ideal schedule but travelers
are asked to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent schedules.
Manager will try to accommodate the requests of our agency nurses,
however, we will not sacrifice our own staff just to accommodate a
special requested schedule.- Weekend Requirement: Every other.-
Holiday Requirement: May be asked to go in the Holiday Rotation.-
Is there Call or a Standby requirement: No- Floating Requirements?:
No. CNA may be asked to float to ED for sitter shifts - Scrub
Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue - Unit/Department specific orientation:
1-2 days with a preceptor, depending on needs. Charting System:
CPSI.- Additional Notes: A lot more capabilities than you'd
anticipate for a small hospital, currently working on becoming a
