• Employment Type: TravelJob Summary: Responsible for thedelivery of care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment,planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; and effectivelyinteracts with patient, significant others, and other health team members whilemaintaining standards of professional nursing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Utilizethe nursing process by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning,implementation, and evaluation of the patient's care, as evidenced byclient/staff observation. - Teachpatient/significant other appropriate health information in a timely manner andshare written informational material. - Performdirect patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards. - Assist patients,family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respect theirconfidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous andrespectful manner. - Assistin the orientation/training of new employees. - Assistother staff in the performance of their assignments. - Recognizethe need for variations in staffing and volunteer to fill open shifts. - Take direction andinitiate actions (cross/additional training) that will allow the assumption ofcross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care. - Demonstrate soundjudgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings orconcerns. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES : - As assigned. KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES: - Basic computer. - Knowledgeable regarding the nursing process andits application, including the assessment, planning, implementation, andevaluation of nursing care. AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identifyage-specific patient needs appropriate for this position. Information Management: Treats all information and data within the scope of the position withappropriate confidentiality and security. Risk Management/QualityManagement/Safety: Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, QualityManagement, and Safety Activities and Investigations. MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: -- Education - Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing - AssociateDegree or Diploma required. -- WorkExperience - One-year in nursing field, preferably in an emergency or intensive care setting. -- Training - N/A -- License - Current New Mexico Licenserequired or RN License with Multistate Compact privileges. -- Certification - BLS required. ACLS, PALS, NRP, required or within 90 days ofemployment. TNCC required or within 1 year of employment. ENPC preferred.
