Job Title: High Voltage Commissioning Inspector (solar)

Type: Contract
Compensation: $62.00 - $64.00 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
System One is currently seeking a High Voltage Commissioning
Inspector on a 12 month contract position for a solar project
located in Hobbs, NM.
High Voltage Commissioning Inspector Responsibilities: Responsible
for high voltage commissioning inspection within the
substation.
Ensure proper integration of solar-generated electricity into the
grid.
This position may also involve occasional support for another solar
farm in Earth, TX, accounting for approximately 5-10% of the
time.
Planning meetings and then proceed to the field to monitor the
installation of substations and transformers, conduct inspections,
and communicate progress with the project team.
This role does not involve budgeting responsibilities, as those are
handled by the superintendent.
Will work closely with contactors and subcontractors as well as
with the onsite construction manager, two other inspectors and the
regional superintendent.
High Voltage Commissioning Inspector Requirements: Must be familiar
with the hazards associated with such environments and are expected
to wear PPE, including hard hats, steel-toed boots, long pants and
long-sleeved shirts.
Strong foundation in high voltage electrical systems with 5-7 years
of hands-on experience being essential.
While a formal degree is not required, candidates with commensurate
field experience- particularly those who have completed an
apprenticeship or hold a journeyman electrician license are highly
preferred.
Commissioning experience, especially in solar or wind energy
projects, is considered an asset, though not mandatory.
Familiarity with hazards associated with high voltage environments
is critical, as the role involves working in potentially dangerous
field conditions.
Valid drivers license is required as a company on-site vehicle will
be provided.
